A leading authority on tax and regulatory policy, Mark Weinberger has built a distinguished career over the past quarter-century in both professional services and government. Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Weinberger graduated from Emory University in Atlanta in 1983 before matriculating at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. After completing his BA, JD, and MBA, Mark Weinberger joined EY (formerly Ernst & Young) in 1987, the global professional services organization he heads today. In addition to serving in a variety of Americas and Global leadership positions at EY, Weinberger earned an LLM in tax law from Georgetown University Law Center; co-founded a tax law and legislative advisory firm in Washington, D.C.; and accepted Presidential appointments to several government positions, including Assistant Secretary (tax policy) of the U.S. Treasury under President George W. Bush.
On returning to EY in 2003 Weinberger has since served as both Americas and global tax leader and as a member of the Global Executive, EY’s top management body. And, in July 2013, he became Global Chairman and CEO. In this position, Weinberger leads 175,000 people in more than 150 countries around the world.
